Dear HSPs,
I’ll keep it short.
The blog this time: The Power of Inner Silence for HSPs
Possibly Interesting: A podcast of myself and Alanis Morissette. Listen to podcast here.
Upcoming HSP Events:
Visit our event page for more information and links to each event at: https://hsperson.com/events/
- March 1, Marin Day School, screening of Sensitive: the Untold Story. (I will do a Q and A afterwards.) For more information visit here.
- April 21-22. HSP and Horses Workshop Introduction. Woodacre, CA. (1 hr. 11 mins from SF airport). I love these quiet, deep weekends in the woods, so I will definitely be there. No horse experience is required and there’s no riding. You learn—a very surprising amount–by observing and interacting as much as you want with these sensitive creatures, alone and in activities. Learn more here.
- June 14-15, HSP Retreat Gathering, Gaunts House, Petersham Lane, Wimborne, Dorset, United Kingdom. As I say every time when I speak about “what all HSPs need,” one of these is being in an only-HSPs group at least once. Jacquelyn Strickland’s HSP Retreat Gatherings are perfect for doing just that. For more info and to enroll visit here. See below for a course gathering offered in September in New York’s Catskill Mountains.
- “Understanding Highly Sensitive Children and Teens.” Finally a course for those involved with highly sensitive children and adolescents: parents, grandparents, teachers, nurses, pediatricians, or anyone just curious. Attendees do not need to be highly sensitive and it is not a course focused on the needs of HSPs. Given by Candy Crawford, LCSW, and Alane Freund, LMFT plus me. These two taught along with me at the last two HSP weekend workshops. (Note that these HS children weekend seminars, which overlap these dates, is not strictly for HSPs, but will be a mix of HSPs and not, and only for those wanting to learn more about HSCs.)
- July 20-22 at 1440 Multiversity in Santa Cruz, CA. View event details here.
- September 28-30 at Kripalu, Western MA
- September 30 to October 4, HSP Gathering Retreat – Menla Mountain House. To enroll visit here.
The Journal from my Six-month Retirement
Some of you have asked about those six months I was gone, from August 2016 through January 2017. Art, my husband (not an HSP) and I each kept a journal and have since combined them and have now serialized it (meaning you pay chapter by chapter as they become available—if enough people order the first). The price is $2.99 per chapter, just to cover expenses (website, posting each chapter and announcing by email).
This is not particularly about high sensitivity, except that part of it is written by an HSP (me) and the other part by my traveling partner, Art (not at HSP), with clear differences in style and observations!. You might also be interested in other aspects of it. You can look at website for more details, order the first if you are interested, and decide after that if you want more at: http://sixmonthretirement.com/
HS Men Alert: We do not have the exact date yet, but in 2019 there will definitely be (as much as the universe allows definite plans) a conference/seminar weekend for HSM exclusively, in Santa Cruz at the 1440 Multiversity. Plan to be there!
Warmly,
Elaine
